BEFORE WE MEET
Before the first in-person appointment, I offer a brief, complimentary telephone consultation (10-15 minutes). The purpose of this telephone conversation is for me to get a sense of your needs and to discuss scheduling an initial consultation.
The consultation period (usually 2-3 sessions) provides us with an opportunity to get to know one another with "no strings attached." As psychotherapy relies on a safe and supportive relationship, it is important to take time to assess if I am the best person to provide the services you need. These initial sessions will give you a sense of what it is like to meet with me and will give me a chance to assess if I have the skills and experience necessary to best treat your specific concerns. Together we will decide whether working together is the best approach. At the end of the consultation period, I will provide treatment recommendations and we will discuss your options.
At your first visit, there will be a few forms to complete. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time to complete the forms. To save you time, please feel free to download the forms here and bring them with you to your first visit.
